Wooden framed glass facades
The product range of AS Lasita Aken includes glazed façades inserted in the wooden structures where a visible wooden structure creates a cosy atmosphere and forms an integral ensemble with wooden windows. Façades, as windows, may be externally covered with aluminium to give wood maximum protection against external conditions.
Wooden façades enable to design large openings, since the load bearing structures are made of glued laminated timber. Sizes of the wooden elements depend on the load bearing properties of the façade and the available widths are 50 mm, 60 mm and 80 mm and the depth is 70-270 mm.
The stability of the structures is ensured with TWINLOC fastening fixtures.
The sealed units are fastened externally either by means of wooden or aluminium pressure bars.
Tightness of the entire façade is ensured by EPDM and silicone seals.
Wooden façade is characterised by excellent thermal resistance, since it is possible to use sealed units with a thickness of up to 48 mm and U-value of 0.6 W/m2K. As per estimations it is possible to achieve the U-value of 0.64 W/m2K for the entire façade system.
Implementation of a wooden façade as a winter garden or a simple wall element enables a lot of natural daylight and solar energy to be caught, creating a wide, energy efficient and safe solution. With wooden windows and doors the entire building is close to nature and visually enjoyable.
